This striking structure consists of three futuristic floating spheres. The pavilion serves as an example for sustainable building on water.
The floating pavilion is an experiment. It should provide insights that can be used to build floating residential areas. Neighborhoods that may be realized in the future. The Drijvend Paviljoen gives you a glimpse into the future. The surface of the innovative structure consists of ETFE film which is about a hundred times lighter than glass. In addition, it is heated and cooled with solar energy and surface water. The structure thus satisfies its own energy needs to a large extent. The pavilion is regularly open to the public. Check the website of the Drijvend Paviljoen for data. Notable are also the trees that float around the structure. A work of art by Jeroen Everaert.
