Explore this rare, well-preserved canal house from the Golden Age. Narrow corridors and stairs lead to historically furnished living quarters, kitchens and bedtowns, to end up in what is literally the highlight of the museum: a complete church in the attic. The church was built by order of a wealthy Catholic merchant. He lived in the canal house during the period when Catholic celebrations in the Netherlands were officially forbidden. The Protestant city council knew about the attic church but it was tolerated.
