De Wallen, or the Red Light District of Amsterdam, is the most famous prostitution area in the world. Since the 15th century, prostitutes have been found in this area. Window prostitution takes place since 1930, where in the beginning the curtain was only allowed to stand on a small crevice from the police. From the 1960s, the popularity of this district increased sharply. Today it is still a bustle of interest throughout the day.
