Stevenskerk

Behold this largest church in the city during a day trip to Nijmegen. The 13th century building is shrouded in Romanesque Gothic style.

The iconic church was badly damaged during the bombardment in 1944, but was completely restored in 1969. A visit to the Stevenskerk is an experience. The high elegant vaults, the dazzling light from the lanceet windows, the ancient tombs, a spectacular row of chandeliers: you simply don't know where to look! The church is managed by Stichting Stevenskerk, which is committed to preserving the religious and cultural heritage and at the same time being a meeting place for all Nijmegenaren and visitors from outside. With the motto: inspiring meeting point for art, culture and reflection.
