On this cozy square, several streets converge. The red stone that can be found in the square used to be the backdrop of bloody activities.

This square in the inner city of Hoorn is the junction of several streets and alleys. Important connecting roads from the interior came together here. The square owes its name to a bloody activity, namely the execution of judgments against those convicted by the city court of barges and ships. The chopping off of limbs or heads was part of this and happened on the Red Stone. The original stone is no longer there, the stone you will find there is a replica.
