Westfries Museum

Welcome to the golden age. In one of the most beautiful buildings of Hoorn you will find this museum where the accent is on the period between 1500 and 1800.

The Westfries Museum is located in one of the most beautiful monuments in Hoorn, right on the central city square, the Roode steen. The museum's collection provides an overview of the cultural history of the West-Friesland region. The focus is on the period between 1500 and 1800 and the museum has set out a route that leads through 25 rooms and spaces. Each room has its own character and highlights its own historical subject.

The Westfries Museum will be closed until mid-2027 due to a renovation.
